The State Bank of Việt Nam has proposed that all international electronic money transfers valued at US$1,000 or more within the country’s forthcoming international Financial Centre (IFC) must be reported to strengthen monitoring mechanisms and anti-money laundering (AML) efforts.
Deposit mobilisation by credit institutions in HCM City grew by 4 per cent as of July 31 to VND3.02 quadrillion (US$132.5 billion), according to the State Bank of Vietnam.
Overseas remittances to HCM City in the first four months of the year are estimated to be US$1.8 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 2 per cent, according to the State Bank of Vietnam.
